Being impulsive as I am and already having a few items in my Celtic collection I thought it would be a good idea to try and collect as many of the match day programmes as possible. Well, it turns out that it is not going to be an easy task, so in for a penny in for a pound! Here I am several years later sat in my office as HQ will not allow my football addiction at home scratching my head wondering what to do next with pile up on pile of programmes.

Choosing which way to go with the programmes has been difficult and I have narrowed it down to home league fixtures that include European and the domestic cup fixtures for the time being at least, there are many boxes of away fixtures that I still haven’t touched but will look to eventually add to this collection.

If you have had a search through the site you will by now probably see that certain pages have no content at all, and others have a few programmes added, others have every fixture, this is down to how the programmes are being scanned and uploaded, as time goes by I will upload more. I have also made a note on each page that states the *Celtic score is always shown first, which at first glance doesn’t make much sense as there are only home fixtures,  this is in anticipation of adding all the away fixtures that will in time be scanned and uploaded.

Collecting programmes isn’t a new thing, the detailing of the results is not either, and I now have a tick list taking me back to my sticker book days of ‘Got, not Got!’. What I have noticed is the detailing of the programmes is never there, so I have all of these programmes, with fantastic artwork, interviews, advertising, player signatures, ticket stubs all collated and are sat in folders that nobody can see, which is a great shame. So my intention is to scan and detail every page of every programme that will then be archived, for any Celtic fan if they so wish to read, look up and to use for their own research purposes.

This has already taken me years to get to this point and it will take me many more and it is a real pleasure to go through the Celtic history in this way.

If you would like to contribute to the site and if you notice any mistakes in what I am producing please feel free to get in touch, I am learning a lot as I am going along and there are many other collectors out there who have far greater knowledge than I do about the history of the club.
